These pH measurements should be taken daily.
Desirable alkalinity readings should fall between 100 and 120 ppm. These readings usually go hand in hand with the pH readings that we have just discussed. If the alkalinity levels have fallen below the minimum acceptable mark then you can use chlorine shock to raise the level. o Cyanuric Acid
Normal Cyanuric acid readings should range from 20 to 30 ppm. The Cyanuric acid content slows the evaporation of chlorine maintaining consistent chlorine levels. However, Cyanuric acid tends to lower the alkalinity and pH levels of the water since it makes up a larger part of chlorine tablets.
